Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Wolichu Wachu
$8.00 – $32.00
The Oromo people of Guji have a long tradition of coffee cultivation. The hills and landscape in this region allow for particular varieties to flourish. Well drained, fertile clay soils, annual rainfall levels of 1500 – 2000mm and high altitudes of up to 2300 m all contribute to Wolichu Wachu’s delicate and exciting flavour. The plantation is made up of a collection of smallholder farmers that focus on sustainable coffee production, with the average producer here farming on just half a hectare of land.
Wolichu Wachu washing station was built in 2017 by the Harso Haru Mude Farmer Cooperative, a collective of local producers from in and around the town of Haro Wachu, in the Uraga woreda of Guji. This huge collaborative effort, born in the heart of one of the worlds most desired coffee regions, yields a cup that we know you will really enjoy. Wolichu Wachu has all the famous attributes of Ethiopian coffee, such as tropical fruit flavours, sweetness, balance and a juicy mouthfeel. We look forward to serving you this very special selection.
